CONSTRUCTION of the Shanghai campus of New York University got under way yesterday. The 64,500-square-meter campus in the Lujiazui financial zone will have a 15-floor main building with a six-floor annex, a library and a lecture hall. Total construction cost will be around 2.2 billion yuan (US$345.7 million). New York University Shanghai is a joint venture between East China Normal University and New York University. Though the new campus won''t be ready until June 2014, the school will start enrolling undergraduate students next year.
